Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 potatoes, boiled & mashed
  2. 1/4 cup peas / matar, boiled
  3. 1/4 tsp turmeric / haldi
  4. 1 cup bread crumbs
  5. 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  7. as required oil for deep frying
  8. 1/4 tsp cumin powder / jeera powder
  9. 1/4 tsp pepper, crushed
  10. to taste salt
  11. 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  12. 1/4 cup thick poha / beaten rice / aval, washed
  13. 3 tbsp maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
  14. 2 tbsp corn flour
  15. 1/4 tsp pepper, crushed
  16. 1/4 tsp salt
  17. 1/4 cup water
  18. 3 tbsp eggless mayonnaise
  19. 3 tbsp tomato sauce
  20. 1 tsp chilli sauce
  21. 4 burger bun
  22. 1 tomato, slice
  23. 1 onion, rings

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl take 2 boiled and mashed potatoes, ¼ cup boiled peas.

  2. Add in 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1/4 tsp cumin powder, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste and 1/2 tsp salt.

  3. Combine everything well forming a dough.

  4. Add in 1/4 cup washed poha and combine again. this helps to absorb moisture from mixture.

  5. Now prepare maida paste by mixing 3 tbsp maida, 2 tbsp corn flour, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 cup water.

  6. Mix well to form a lump free batter.

  7. Now prepare a large patties from aloo mixture.

  8. Coat in bread crumbs and then dip into maida paste covering all side.

  9. Further roll in bread crumbs covering all sides.

  10. Deep fry in hot oil or bake at 180 degree celsius for 20 minutes.

  11. Flip over and fry both sides till the tikki turns crisp and golden.

  12. Now prepare burger sauce by mixing 3 tbsp eggless mayonnaise, 3 tbsp tomato sauce and 1 tsp chilli sauce.

  13. Cut half the burger bun and spread a tsp of prepared burger sauce on both sides.

  14. On bottom side of bun place few lettuce followed by prepared aloo patties.

  15. Again spread a tsp of burger sauce.

  16. Place 2 slice of tomato and 2 rings of onion.

  17. Cover with burger bun and press slightly.

  18. Burger is ready to serve!
